This isn’t a medical textbook or a story with a perfect ending.

It is a personal account of living with a body that became difficult to understand, searching for answers, and learning to navigate MCAS, food reactions, uncertainty, and the many ways chronic symptoms can quietly reshape everyday life.

For years, I searched for answers to symptoms I couldn’t explain. Along the way, I began to understand that living with uncertainty was changing more than my body — it was changing the way I experienced everyday life.

Path to Ikigai grew from that journey, and from a question that became increasingly important to me: how do we keep noticing what brings joy, connection, and meaning to our lives when so much remains uncertain?

7 Things I Wish I Had Known When My MCAS Symptoms First Started

When symptoms first become difficult to understand, it is easy to feel overwhelmed by everything you are trying to figure out at once.

This guide brings together seven things I wish I had understood earlier, along with reflections and practical questions to help you navigate your own search for answers with a little more clarity.

Finding Joy in Everyday Life.

Ikigai is often described as a reason for being, but it does not have to be something grand. Sometimes, it can be found in the ordinary things that bring joy, curiosity, connection, or something to look forward to.

For me, Path to Ikigai is about noticing those things and making room for more of them in everyday life.
